An Austrian picnic & a visit to the beer garden

Picnic time

You can follow my AESU Tour to Europe from the start here.

Traveling with a tour group has its benefits. These days the only guided tours I take are for city tours. Traveling with AESU Tours we were treated to a beautiful picnic in the Austrian Allps. It was warm outside but the snow was nearby.

Olympic Rings

Visiting Innsbruck, where the Winter Olympics of 1976 were held, we saw the site of where the skiing competition took place. We also checked out the city, did some shopping, and saw ran across a parade with locals in native dress.

The Glockenspiel

Hobrauhaus Beer Garden

It was a busy day. We crossed borders again into Germany and visited Munich. I wish I could have stayed in this town longer, but we did have the opportunity to see the famous Glockenspiel (which re-enacts two historical stories of the town while chiming away) and the even more famous Hobrauhaus Beer Garden (one of the oldest breweries in Munich). We spent a little over an hour here and I managed to drink 1 liter of beer in this time period and enjoy part of my girlfriend Jen’s enormous German pretzel.

I love my beer!
