A Day in Photos- the beaches of Southern California

Sunset in Santa Monica

We stumbled across a beautiful sunset in Santa Monica one night taking a family walk. The shades were spectacular!

Hermosa Beach Pier

This photo is at the Hermosa Beach Pier with a statue of Tim Kelley who was a surfer and lifeguard in the area. The kids love to climb up on the statue for a picture. I love taking them watching them grow in relation to the statue.

Playground in Santa Monica

This photo was taken in Santa Monica by the Annenberg Community Beach House. Here you can have a bite to eat at the restaurant, rent bikes, beach chairs, etc. Kids can play on the playground and there is a swimming pool that you can pay to use. There are also community rooms you can rent out for parties.

Huntington Beach Pier

I took the kids down to Huntington Beach in Orange County with a friend last year to watch the US Open of Surfing. I used to visit the event every year prior to getting married and was glad to return to the excitement at the beach. The kids enjoyed seeing the world’s best male and female surfers in action. The Huntington Beach Pier is in the background.

The Boats in Playa Del Rey

This view is from Toes Beach in Playa Del Rey on the bike path that connects with it with Marina Del Rey. We stopped to watch the boats come out of the marina one day.

Santa Monica Beach in the Winter

Malina stopped for a photo as we walked Santa Monica Beach in the winter. It was a warm winter evening with very few people out. It was a great evening for a family walk.
